(Turkmenistan.ru) - Yesterday, Turkmen grain growers fulfilled the task on the harvest of wheat crop, the Ashgabat correspondent of Turkmenistan.ru reports referring to the State news service (TDH). Grain growers yielded and transferred to the state over 3,5 million tons of grain, up 400 thousand tons year-on-year. It should be noted that some 910 thousand hectares of land was allotted for winter crops this season.

On July 5, grain growers of Lebap province were the first to report the fulfillment of their contractual obligations on the sale of grain to the state. They harvested over 600 thousand tons of wheat. Grain growers of Mary province (over 945 thousand tons) and Ahal province (over 1,030 mln tons) joined them in one day. On July 8, farmers of Dashoguz province (over 575 thousand tons) and Balkan province (350 thousand tons) reported that the government task was fulfilled. Thus, almost all regions of Turkmenistan completed the harvest of wheat in excess of the plan, reports Trend.

As the TDH reports, the new record of Turkmen grain growers was the result of successful implementation of the Presidential Programmes "Grain" and "New village" aimed at the fundamental change of agriculture. Turkmenistan has invested heavily in agriculture in the years of independence. The fleet of the agricultural-industrial complex has been completely upgraded. The country provides benefits to farmers and landlords.

This season, 1547 American Case and John Deer combines were used on the fields of Turkmenistan. Thousands of state and private sector vehicles were engaged in transportation of grain to 470 granaries and elevators. Now, grain growers are harvesting the remaining wheat. Simultaneously, they started preparing the land for winter sowing campaign and also started sowing such interim agriculture crops as sugar beet, rice and vegetables.
