Caspian coast of Turkmenistan to host international children's art festival

(Turkmenistan.ru) - The finishing touches are made in the Caspian city of Turkmenbashi before the International Children's Art Festival scheduled for August 1-7. As of today, over 10 countries, including Azerbaijan, Belarus, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Georgia, Germany, China and Saudi Arabia confirmed their participation in the festival, the Ashgabat correspondent of Turkmenistan.ru reports. Turkmenistan will be represented by 350 boys and girls, the winners of qualification competitions from all the provinces of Turkmenistan and Ashgabat.

Young talents will be arriving in the Turkmen capital starting July 31. The opening ceremony of the international children's art festival will be held on the stage of the Drama Theater in Ashgabat, reports Trend.

Young representatives from foreign countries will put flowers on Independence Monument, visit Spirituality Mosque in Kypchak, as well as the Ice Palace, Turkmen State Puppet Theater, museums and schools of Ashgabat.

The parade and gala concert of the festival participants will open the festival program on August 4. In the evening, the children will present their programs. The selection of contenders was conducted in the following nominations: folk group, dance, solo singing and drawing. Two more nominations were offered to foreign participants - writing an essay and presenting a verbal story about independent Turkmenistan.

Apart from that, a cultural program will be offered to the children. It includes boating, sightseeing and gathering at a fire of friendship. Music and songs will accompany them everywhere. UNICEF office in Turkmenistan together with Turkmen colleagues prepared a separate program for the children. It provides for various contests and subject meetings.

The official closing of the International Children's Art Festival will take place in Ashgabat on August 7. Prizes and presents will be awarded to the winners.
