(Turkmenistan.ru) - Acting president of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov signed a resolution approving the regulations on the procedures for financing the election of Turkmen president and the election campaign. The Central Commission for Elections and Conducting Referendums in Turkmenistan has been made responsible for the implementation of the regulations.
The regulations say in particular that in compliance with the Law of Turkmenistan "On Election of President of Turkmenistan" all expenses related to the election campaign and the election of president of Turkmenistan should be covered from the state budget of Turkmenistan. Relevant expenses are to be calculated separately for each candidate for the presidency of Turkmenistan by the Central Commission for Elections and Conducting Referendums in Turkmenistan and by the electoral commissions of the regions and of the city of Ashgabat. The regulations also stipulate the provision of equal financing for all candidates. These funds can be used only for specified purposes, reports Trend.
The contenders are guaranteed equal access to mass media. The electoral commissions provide equal opportunities for the presidential candidates to conduct public events. The electoral commissions also ensure the observance of the approved procedures of elections conduct.
