President Islam Karimov of Uzbekistan, who is paying two-day official visit to Turkmenistan, proposed Tuesday to turn up Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman-Qatar transport corridor, RIA Novosti reported.

President Islam Karimov of Uzbekistan, who is paying two-day official visit to Turkmenistan, proposed Tuesday to turn up Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman-Qatar transport corridor, RIA Novosti reported.

"We have discussed with the President of Turkmenistan this issue, in general terms, and I was very glad to have found a complete understanding, that the corridor could open enormous opportunities for our countries to reach the market in which our country is very need", - Karimov said during the Turkmen-Uzbek talks.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the president of Turkmenistan told his Uzbek counterpart that accepts this proposal and instructed the foreign policy and the transport departments of Turkmenistan to explore the political and technical aspects of the project.
