Uzbekistan's judoka tests positive for banned stimulant in Asian Games

Uzbekistan's Shokir Muminov, who won the silver medal at the men's 81kg class at the Asian Games, has tested positive for methylhexaneamine, a banned stimulant, after the post-competition check, Mani Jegathesan, chairman of Olympic Council of Asia medical commission, announced here on Friday afternoon, Xinhua reported.
"The athlete has been disqualified from the competition as well as these games and his performance in the competition has been nullified, his medal withdrawn and appropriate adjustment made to the results," said Jegathesan.
"His urine specimen collected on Nov. 14 after the competition was found to contain methylhexaneamine."
Kim Jae-Bum of South Korea beat Muminov by ippon in the final last Sunday. Masahiro Takamatsu of Japan and Islam Bozbayev of Kazakhstan shared the third place.
