Uzbekistan improves ITC legislation

The Committee of Legislative Chamber of Uzbek Parliament (Oliy Majlis) on information and communication technologies and the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information (UzACI) held a conference titled "Importance of modern information-communication technologies in political modernization processes" on Sept. 29, UzDaily reported on Friday.
The representatives of the Legislative Chamber, Cabinet of Ministries, state and economic bodies, political parties, research institutes and others were among the conference participants.
During the conference it was noted that Uzbekistan is improving national legislation on ICT based on international experience. According to the participants, the ICT is making huge contribution to development of economic potential of Uzbekistan.
During the conference, the participants discussed issues of further improving mechanisms on legal regulation and introducing ICT. They considered issues on developing interactive state services for population, development of national telecommunication network and national segment in Internet.
During the conference, the participants also discussed issues of developing quality content and use of modern ICT.
The participants adopted decisions, directed at using wide-scale use of modern information-communication technologies in political modernization of Uzbekistan.
