Uzbek President Islam Karimov signed a decree "On celebrating Kurban-hait (Eid al-Adha)".

"Taking into account the proposal of the Muslims' Board of Uzbekistan that the first day of Eid al-Adha coincides with Nov.6 this day will be marked as a holiday in Uzbekistan," the decree published by the country media says on Tuesday.

The document was adopted given the role and importance of the holy Eid al-Adha in the spiritual life of the Uzbek people, in order to preserve national and religious values, enhancing the mutual consent of the citizens, enrichment of moral and spiritual world of the young generation,the decree says.

Public authorities, the youth movement "Kamolot" are instructed to organize necessary events at the high level in accordance with national values of the Uzbek people, while the media outlets were recommended to widely cover activities associated with the celebration of the holiday.
