Uzbek-Chinese relations discussed in Tashkent

A meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan Zhang Xiao was held at the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, reported the press service of the Ministry on November 10, CA-NEWS reported.
The sides exchanged opinion on separate issues of the Uzbek-Chinese cooperation.
The most important stage in relations of the two parties was the state visit of Islam Karimov to China on April 19-20, which allowed bringing of the Uzbek-Chinese partnership to a qualitatively new level.
Trade turnover between the two countries in 2010 amounted to $2,085.3 million, export - $899.9 million and imports $1,185.4 million, reported the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
347 companies with Chinese investment, including 57 with 100% of Chinese capital, operate in Uzbekistan.
64 companies of China are accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan. Field of activity mainly involves conducting export-import operations, textiles, agro-processing and information technology.
