The Czech Embassy in Tashkent is authorized to coordinate meetings of EU member-countries' consuls in Uzbekistan, the Czech diplomatic mission said on Monday.
The embassy noted that the Czech Republic has the responsibility to coordinate consular issues between all member countries of the EU in Uzbekistan and to assist member countries that do not have representation in Uzbekistan during crisis situations.
According to the agreement reached by the heads of diplomatic missions of EU member states in Tashkent during a meeting of the Embassy of Slovakia in late February, issues relating to Schengen visas for residents of Uzbekistan continue to be administered by the Polish
Embassy in Tashkent.
The EU delegation in Tashkent will deal with the remaining issues, the Czech Embassy's website said.
