Senior Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Ryuji Yamane arrived on a visit to Uzbekistan.

On Thursday he held a meeting at the Foreign Ministry which was attended by Japanese Ambassador Yoshihisa Kuroda.

As the Foreign Ministry said, during the negotiations the sides exchanged views on the status and prospects of Uzbek-Japanese relations, as well as on regional issues.

The meeting stressed a mutual desire to deepen the beneficial strategic partnership in political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The parties' interest in the development of mutual trade, joint innovation projects and expanding the presence of leading Japanese companies in high technology industries in Uzbekistan was confirmed.

"The accumulated experience of constructive interaction enables the parties to cooperate effectively in the bilateral format and within international organisations, including the inter-regional dialogue of 'Japan+Central Asia'," the Foreign Ministry said.
