Major cosmetics firm's subsidiary resumes work in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan, Tashkent, Aug.9 / Trend, D. Azizov /

Faberlic Tashkent, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Russian Faberlic in Uzbekistan, has resumed work on Thursday, a source in the State Tax Committee told Trend on Thursday.

In June, its activity was suspended due to a tax inspection involving the prosecutor's office.
The inspection was initiated under a criminal case filed against the company, through which Faberlic Tashkent operated.

According to the agency, the inspection did not reveal any serious violations. The head office and the warehouse operate in Faberlic Tashkent, and the shipping of goods to all regions of the republic has started.

Faberlic opened a subsidiary in Uzbekistan in July 2007. It is the only company officially operating on the direct sales market in the country.

Uzbekistan closed the representative office of Oriflame in 2011, which had been operating in the market for 10 years. The Swedish company was accused of illegally importing cosmetics.
