Ukrainian PM to visit Uzbekistan in autumn

Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan, Ukraine's ambassador to Uzbekistan Yuri Savchenko told reporters on Wednesday.
He did not specify the date of the visit.
"Preparations of Ukrainian Prime Minister to Tashkent is nearing completion, and the meeting of the leaders of the two parliaments are also scheduled," Savchenko said.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Konstantin Grishchenko visited Tashkent in February. Following the visit, an agreement was reached on the official visit of Prime Minister of Ukraine to Uzbekistan in the frame of the joint commission meeting.
Head of Ukrainian diplomatic mission stressed that Uzbekistan is an important and reliable partner of Ukraine in all areas of trade and economic cooperation. In his opinion, good prospects for the development of bilateral relations are in the field of joint high-tech industries, including FIEZ Navoi and PPE Angren.
According to the Ukrainian side, the trade turnover between Ukraine and Uzbekistan in the last 10 years has increased almost 10-fold - from $100 million to $1 billion.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the Uzbek-Ukrainian trade turnover increased by 35.6 percent to $431.9 million during the first half of the year.
