Uzbekistan, Slovenia discuss prospects for deepening dialogue

The Uzbek Foreign Ministry's leadership and President of the Slovenian National Council Blaž Kavčič discussed the state and prospects of deepening Uzbek-Slovenian dialogue on Thursday, including through Uzbekistan - European Union, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

According to the Foreign Ministry, Kavčič arrived in Tashkent to attend the international conference 'Constitution and high legal culture - foundation of democratic society'.

During the meeting it was noted that both sides attach great importance to the strengthening of long term and mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

The sides paid special attention to enhancing inter-parliamentary relations, and realisation of proposals to create institutions of interaction, including trade and economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian.

It was also noted that the current most favoured nation's treatment in mutual trade allows not only an increase in bilateral trade turnover, but also diversification by expanding the range of supplied products and services. The sides also considered some issues of an international and regional character.

The meeting was attended by Slovenian Ambassador Ada Filip-Slivnik.
