Russia has no plans for introduction of the visa regime for Central Asian countries, Russian Foreign Ministry' special envoy Anvar Azimov told RIA Novosti on Thursday.

"Russia attaches proper attention to friendly states of the CIS, and introduction of the visa regime for the CIS countries, including Central Asian republics, never was and is not on the agenda," he said.

Earlier some media reported with the reference to Azimov's statements, which was supposedly made at the Dojd channel, that Russia plans to introduce a visa regime with the countries of Central Asia, including Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in 2015.

According to Azimov, his speech at the Dojd channel was misunderstood and he only spoke of 'the possibility of entry to Russia from the CIS countries with foreign passports.'
