Zafar Kayumov has been appointed new Consul General of Uzbekistan to New York (USA), the Uzbek foreign ministry reported on May 8.
Earlier, Kayumov served as Consul General of Uzbekistan to Dubai (UAE).
Kayumov replaced Durbek Amanov at the post of the Consul General to New York.
Amanov was appointed Uzbek ambassador to Germany, Spain and the Czech Republic in October 2013.
