Number of consumer complaints increases by 7.5% in Uzbekistan in 2014

The Uzbek State Committee for Privatization, De-monopolization and Development of Competition and its territorial bodies received 4,725 complaints and appeals from consumers in 2014 or by 7.5 percent more than in 2013, the State Committee said.

The Uzbek State Committee for Privatization, De-monopolization and Development of Competition and its territorial bodies received 4,725 complaints and appeals from consumers in 2014 or by 7.5 percent more than in 2013, the State Committee said.

Around 63.4 percent of all appeals accounted for the municipal sphere. The number of appeals in the field of trade and catering hit 16.4 percent, transport and communications - 9.7 percent.

While considering the appeals, the re-calculation was made in favor of consumers totaling more than 1.215 billion soums compared to 958.4 million soums in the previous year (a 26.8 percent growth).
