Uzbekistan's Central Election Commission (CEC) decided Jan. 19 to allow all four political parties registered in the country to take part in the presidential election to be held March 29, the Republican Press Center, which covers the election told Trend.

The authorized representatives of the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen - Liberal Democratic Party, the People's Democratic Party, the Democratic Party 'Milly Tiklanish' and the Social Democratic Party 'Adolat' were issued registration certificates and forms of standard pattern signature sheets.

Earlier, these parties' representatives submitted the necessary documents to the CEC.

Under the current electoral legislation of Uzbekistan, only political parties have the right to nominate a presidential candidate.

The candidate may be a member of a nominating party, or a non-party candidate.
