The Social Democratic Party Adolat (Justice, Social Democrats) submitted the documents required for the registration of its presidential candidate to the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Uzbekistan, the republican press center on coverage of the upcoming election said.

The presidential election in Uzbekistan will be held on March 29.

Four political parties operating in the country received permission to participate in the election.

Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen - Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) nominated Islam Karimov as a candidate for president, People's Democratic Party - chairman of the central council of the party Hatamjon Ketmonov, USDP - chairman of the executive committee of the party Narimon Umarov, DPU Milliy Tiklanish - member of the faction of the party in the parliament, chairman of the Committee on Democratic Institutions, NGOs and Citizens' Self-Governing Bodies Akmal Saidov.

Nomination of candidates is carried out by the supreme body of the party - the congress.

Earlier, representatives of three political parties of Uzbekistan submitted the documents required for the registration of the candidates: Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen - Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, DPU Milliy Tiklanish and People's Democratic Party.

The documents submitted to the Central Election Commission include applications of party leaders requesting registration, the decision and the protocol of the meeting of the supreme body of the party on nomination, the application of the presidential candidate on his consent to run for president, as well as signature sheets supporting the candidacy.

The CEC will check and draw a conclusion on the compliance of the submitted documents with the requirements of the electoral legislation within seven days.
