The employees of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations have rescued 50 people including children, women and elderly from the stuck ropeway in mountain ski resort of Beldersay.

The employees of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Emergency Situations have rescued 50 people including children, women and elderly from the stuck ropeway in mountain ski resort of Beldersay, the country's Ministry of Emergency Situations told Trend.

By good fortune, all-around rescue competitions involving 17 teams were going on among the rescue units of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Emergency Situations not far from the scene.

The teams which included one of the best rescuers in the country immediately arrived at the scene and managed to rescue the people from the ropeway, according to the ministry.

None of the people on the ropeway were injured.

First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Komiljon Aripov personally led the rescue operations.
