A strong fire erupted Aug. 24 evening in the village of Dustlik, Tashkent region, Uzbekistan, caused by an explosion on the main gas pipeline supplying gas to the Ferghana Valley, the Uzbek media reported with reference to the unofficial information of law enforcement officers.

The inhabitants of the upper floors of high-rise buildings in Tashkent observed the glow from the fire for several hours. A lot of fire brigades, police cars and ambulances have left the capital for the region.

At the moment, the fire has been extinguished.

The ministry of emergency situations of Uzbekistan has not reported the cause of the fire, stressing that they are being established.

Several ambulances have left for the scene, but no victims are reported, as it happened in a deserted area, according to the ministry of health of Uzbekistan.
