Heating, hot water tariffs to rise in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Sept. 14

Tariffs for central heating and hot water supply will increase in Tashkent from Oct. 1, said the Uzbek company Tashteploenergo.

From Oct. 1, the tariffs for central heating for Tashkent's residents will be raised by 5.2 percent up to 1073.06 soums per square meter of floor space (from the current 1019.59 soums).

Meanwhile, the hot water supply tariffs will also increase by 5.2 percent up to 12,395.4 soums per person if there is not a counter. Currently the hot water supply tariff is 11,777.69 soums per person.

If there is a counter, the tariff for hot water will be 3,174.05 soums per cubic meter, against the current 3,015.87 soums per cubic meter.

The official exchange rate for Sept. 14 is 2605.83 soums/$1.
