Uzbekistan National Airways (Ozbekiston Havo Yollari) carried 1.882 million passengers in January-September 2016, which is 5 percent less than in the same period of 2015, according to the website of the company Oct. 31.

Some 856,700 passengers were transported to the CIS countries (4.2 percent decrease), 624,600 passengers to the far abroad countries (0.8 percent increase), 400,600 passengers - on domestic flights (14.4 percent decrease).

The volume of cargo transportations of the airline amounted to 30,600 tons compared to 31,000 tons in Jan.-Sept. of 2015 (a 1.6 percent decrease).

“Cargo aircraft of the airline carried out 734 flights in January-September 2016, which is 46 flights more than during the same period last year,” the message said.

During the reporting period, Uzbekistan Airways opened Tashkent-Voronezh regular flight.

Uzbekistan Airways is the monopoly carrier in Uzbekistan and is wholly owned by the state.
Its fleet currently consists of 30 aircraft of western production, including 12 Boeings (four 767-300, five 757-200, two 767- 300-ER and one Boeing-787-800 Dreamliner), 13 Airbuses (three A-310 and ten A-320-200), three medium-range RJ-85 planes and two Boeing-767-300BCF cargo planes.

Uzbekistan Airways conducts flights to over 20 cities in Europe, America, Middle East, Asia, and in 22 cities of countries of Commonwealth of Independent States and 11 destinations on local airlines.

In 2015, the Uzbek airline decreased the transportation of passengers by 2 percent, or to 2.572 million passengers compared to 2014. The volume of freight transportations decreased by 2.8 percent, to 41,800 tons in 2015.
