Political Council of the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businesspeople – the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) nominated Deputy Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov for the post of the Uzbek prime minister at a meeting on Dec. 12, says a message on the UzLiDeP’s website.

According to the Uzbek Constitution, the candidacy of the prime minister is proposed to the president by the political party with the largest number of parliamentary seats in the Legislative Chamber in the country’s parliament.

"Following the discussion, the meeting participants decided to propose the candidacy of the Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, who was nominated for the post of the Uzbek prime minister, to the president for consideration," reads the message.

The candidacy of the prime minister is considered approved if it is given more than half of the votes from the total number of deputies of the lower house and the Senate of the Uzbek Parliament.
