The next – ninth – plenary session of Senate (upper house) of the Uzbek parliament has kicked off in Tashkent.
The session’s agenda includes consideration of several laws, including amendments to the Constitution, the Law on Courts, Code of Civil Procedure and Code of Economic Procedure and a number of other legislative acts, as well as the Law on Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the session, senators will also hear the reports of the Uzbek parliament’s authorized person for human rights (Ombudsman), representative of the country’s Accounting Chamber, prosecutor general, minister of internal affairs, chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan’s Central Bank and chairman of the country’s State Committee for Nature Protection.
