President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev called for taking measures to strengthen the people's confidence in the country’s judicial system, Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA) reported.
The president criticized the cases of corruption, indifference to the people’s concerns and making decisions that violate the principles of justice.
Considerable part of complaints lately coming from citizens have had to do with the activity of courts and judges, and this points to the presence of numerous problems in this sphere, he noted.
Special attention should be paid to the training of judges and legal personnel as well as appointment of judges, Mirziyoyev said and suggested to organize a specialized educational institution, the Academy of Justice, in order to increase effectiveness of the work done in this area.
