Uzbek insurers’ premiums collection up by 25%

Uzbek insurance companies have increased the collection of premiums by 25 percent – up to 435.98 billion Uzbek soums in the 1H17, as compared to 1H16, according to the country’s Ministry of Finance.

Meanwhile, the volume of voluntary insurance premiums rose by 30 percent – up to 312.46 billion soums, compulsory insurance premiums – by 14 percent – up to 123.51 billion soums.

According to the ministry, payment of insurance claims totaled 139.13 billion soums in the 1H17 (growth by two times), including the payment on voluntary insurance – by 1.5 times, up to 106.68 billion soums, and on the compulsory insurance – by 29 percent, up to 32.45 billion soums.

The total authorized capital of insurance companies in Uzbekistan was 516.5 billion soums in the first half of 2017, which is 19 percent more, compared to the same period in 2016.

Currently, 27 insurance companies operate in Uzbekistan.
