Transactions on Uzbek commodity exchange up 16.7%

Transactions worth 10.2 trillion soums were concluded at the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange in January-September 2017, which is 16.7 percent more than in the same period of 2016.

In particular, the volume of exchange transactions increased by 16.9 percent and totaled 8 trillion sums, according to the exchange.

Thanks to the simplification of electronic trading participants’ accreditation at the exchange, the number of new clients increased by 18.9 percent. Selling enterprises received additional income due to the formation of real market prices of $2.9 trillion soums (+2 percent) on the stock exchange.

The total volume of deals concluded with participation of small businesses and private entrepreneurs reached 7.1 trillion soums (+13 percent). Entrepreneurs bought inventory worth 4.9 trillion soums and sold products worth 2.2 trillion soums through the exchange.

The volume of fair trading amounted to 1.4 trillion soums (+24 percent). The largest share in purchases accounted for the engineering products – 22 percent, building materials – 18 percent, chemical industry products – 16 percent and consumer goods – 10 percent.

Domestic products worth $47.9 million were exported through the currency trading platform and electronic store of the exchange.
