Uzbek combine plans to implement over 20 projects in 2017-2026

Twenty-seven projects worth $3.063 billion are planned to be implemented in the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine (NMMC) in Uzbekistan in 2017-2026.

As a result of the implementation of those projects in 2026, production volumes will increase by 30 percent. As a result, around 31,000 jobs are planned to be created.

This was announced during a meeting chaired by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev dedicated to the improvement of the efficiency of geological exploration.

During the meeting, the activity of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC) has been analyzed. At present, 18 investment projects worth more than $2.72 billion are currently being implemented at the AMMC.

Among them, the most important projects are the development of Yoshlik-1 and Yoshlik-2 fields, the construction of the Samarchuki underground mine and the cement plant in the Sherabad district of the Surkhandarya region.

The recommendations were given at the meeting to accelerate the development of Yoshlik-1 and Yoshlik-2 fields.
