Uzbekistan may approve a regulation on the procedure for determining the entities of social entrepreneurship.
The draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On approval of the regulations on the procedure for determining the entities of social entrepreneurship" was published on the internet forum for discussion of regulatory and legal documents of the System for Assessing the Impact of Legislative Acts (SAILA).
It is noted that the regulation was developed in accordance with the presidential decree "On organizational measures to stimulate employment of socially vulnerable segments of the population", and also establishes the criteria and procedure for assigning the status of "Social entrepreneur" to business entities in the country.
The purpose of determining the entities of social entrepreneurship is to identify certain types of enterprises, the main activity of which is aimed at solving socially significant problems, such as promoting employment and social protection of socially vulnerable groups of the population.
All legal entities, including large, small enterprises and micro-firms, which are acting as commercial enterprises and organizations, in particular subsidiaries of commercial enterprises within non-profit organizations can become the entities of social entrepreneurship, the draft document reads.
The State Tax Committee together with the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan will determine the entities of social entrepreneurship according to certain criteria.
