Assets of Uzbek commercial banks amount to over $25B

Assets of Uzbek commercial banks amounted to 214.32 trillion soums as of January 1, 2019, which is 28.6 percent higher compared to the same period in 2017, Trend reports via Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

Credit investments of Uzbek banks increased by 51.4 percent in the reporting period and amounted to 167.39 trillion soums.

The volume of deposits exceeded 70 trillion soums which is 17.5 percent higher compared to 2017.

The total capital of commercial banks in Uzbekistan reached 26.58 trillion soums which is 28.5 percent more in comparison with 2017.

The leaders in terms of assets are the National Bank of Uzbekistan with 56.52 trillion soums or 26.4 percent of all assets of Uzbek banking sector, Uzpromstroybank with 30.5 trillion soums or 14.1 percent and Asaka Bank with 30.35 trillion soums or 14.2 percent.

The same banks were leading in terms of loans; National Bank of Uzbekistan provided loans for 46.57 trillion soums (27.8 percent of total loans), Uzpromstroybank for 27.29 trillion soums (16.3 percent) and Asaka Bank for 24.75 trillion soums (14.8 percent).

The three leaders in terms of capital also included the National Bank of Uzbekistan (5.72 trillion soums or 21.5 percent of total capital), Asaka Bank (3.16 trillion soums or 11.9 percent) and Uzpromstroybank (2.84 trillion soums or 10.7 percent).

Moreover, the National Bank of Uzbekistan with 11.74 trillion soums or 16.8 percent of total deposits attracted, Asaka Bank with 6.77 trillion soums or 9.7 percent and Ipoteka Bank with 6.75 trillion soums or 9.7 percen entered the top three in terms of deposits attracted.
