Baku, Azerbaijan, February 6

Despite tax changes and the growth of the exchange rate GM Uzbekistan has no plans to raise prices for cars, Trend reports with reference to Deputy Chairman Uzavtosanoat Aziz Shukurov.

"Despite the growth of the exchange rate and tax changes, we do not plan to change the pricing upward. We are working to reduce costs and increase our profitability," he said.

However, the reduction in car costs not foreseen in the future either.

He also added that the words of the Chairman of the Board of Uzavtosanoat, Shavkat Umurzakov, before the increase in the cost of the car by 7.7 percent in August last year, that prices will drop in 2019, were incorrectly interpreted.

“In fact, it was said this way: we will raise prices now, but then we will give discounts. At the end of last year, we often used substantial discounts on various models and this year we will continue in the same spirit,” Shukurov said.

GM Uzbekistan at the end of third quarter of this year will present two new SUV models.
