China, Uzbekistan to jointly implement coal processing project

China and Uzbekistan intend to jointly implement a coal processing project aimed to receive petrochemical products, Trend reports with reference to the press service of Uzbekistan's national oil and gas holding company Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

The agreement on the project development was achieved during negotiations between Uzbekneftegaz and Chinese Sinopec Petroleum and Chemical Corporation. Earlier, the parties held talks in Beijing in April this year.

The Chinese company decided to send experts to Uzbekistan to study the project in details.

As part of the cooperation between Uzbekneftegaz and Russia's PJSC Gazprom, representatives of the two companies reviewed preparation for the second meeting of the Joint Coordinating Committee to be held in Samarkand. The event attendants will discuss the work done in six areas including, among others, geological exploration in investment blocks, development of scientific and technical cooperation, and training activities.
