The businessmen of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan signed agreements and memorandums on cooperation for attracting foreign investments, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
A delegation of representatives of 60 Kazakhstani companies headed by the President of the Astana Diplomatic Club Kaiyrbulat Sakhmetov visited the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan.
It is reported that an Uzbek-Kazakh business forum and meetings of cooperation in the B2B format were held within the framework of the visit.
It was noted that the business forum was attended by about 200 local business entities working in the fields of pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, information technology, consulting, design, food, transport, logistics, education, trade, agriculture, textiles, construction and others.
According to the information, the businessmen of the two countries signed agreements and memorandums on cooperation in the field of export-import, the attraction of foreign investments, as well as the creation of joint ventures.
Earlier it was reported that the value of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan amounted to $204.6 million in January 2021, compared to $189.9 million during the same period of 2020.
The share of Uzbekistan in the total value of Kazakhstan’s trade turnover stood at 3.6 percent during the reporting period, compared to 2.7 percent during the same period of 2020.
Kazakhstan’s export to Uzbekistan amounted to $170.7 million in January 2021, compared to $123.8 million during the same period of 2020.
Uzbekistan’s share in the total volume of Kazakhstan’s export amounted to 5.3 percent during the reporting period of 2021, compared to 2.7 percent during the same period of 2020.
