Uzbekistan has joined an agreement on cooperation in the field of industry and the creation of a council for the industrial policy of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Trend reports citing the Uzbek media.
The corresponding decree of the country's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was made public.
The agreement was signed at a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government on May 30, 2012, in Ashgabat.
In accordance with the decree, the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan has been designated as the competent authority responsible for the implementation of this international treaty.
Mirziyoyev also instructed the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to send the depository a corresponding notification of Uzbekistan's accession to this agreement.
