The number of vineyards will be increased in Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing the Uzbek media.
As reported, the increase in the number of vineyards will be carried out by the country’s Agency for the Regulation of the Alcohol and Tobacco Market and the Development of Winemaking, by allocating 68.8 billion soums for the development of the sphere.
At the same time, 17.3 billion soums will be spent on drilling wells, and 51.5 billion soums will be spent on organizing drip irrigation. All work is planned to be completed by the end of 2021.
New vineyards will be planted on more than 40,000 hectares of cultivable land. In addition, old economically inefficient vineyards are being reconstructed.
Since February 2020, citizens and agricultural organizations in Uzbekistan have been promised land plots for laying out gardens and vineyards, as well as building greenhouses.
Those who wish can receive land for temporary use - for ten years, on the basis of leasing or a loan agreement. This is stipulated by the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers ’On measures to develop horticulture, viticulture and greenhouse farming within the framework of programs to support family entrepreneurship’.
