Uzbekistan projects volume of direct foreign investments for 2021

Uzbekistan projects the volume of direct foreign investments to reach $7.6 billion at the end of 2021, which will exceed the results of 2020 by 18.8 percent, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.

It is reported that the current state, as well as priority measures to implement priority tasks in the areas of investment and foreign trade, were discussed in the format of a video conference under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov.

According to the results of 4M2021, the volume of foreign direct investment within the framework of the State and regional investment programs amounted to $1.8 billion.

At the same time, within the framework of the State Investment Program, 19 projects were put into operation in the amount of $696 million, due to which more than 5,000 new jobs were created, and within the framework of regional investment programs, 2,961 projects were commissioned for the amount of $1.2 billion, which made it possible to create 32,600 new jobs.

Also, it was announced that in the first half of this year, it is planned to use $2.9 billion in foreign direct investment with an increase of 13.7 percent compared to the same indicator last year.

In total, it is projected that at the end of the year, the volume of foreign direct investment will amount to $7.6 billion, which will exceed the results of 2020 by 18.8 percent.

In addition, the issues of export activities were also considered. It was noted that in the first four months of this year, the volume of exports of goods and services amounted to $3.5 billion.

Following the results of 1H2021, the projected export volume will amount to $5.1 billion, with an increase of 24 percent compared to 2020.

In total, by the end of 2021, it is planned to export goods and services in the amount of $17 billion, which will amount to a 12 percent increase compared to last year.
