Volume of deposits at Uzbek banks increases

The volume of deposits of banks in Uzbekistan increased by 33.4 percent from January through October 2021 (140.1 trillion soums or $13 billion), Trend reports via the Uzbek Central Bank.

This figure amounted to 105 trillion soums ($9.7 billion) for the same period last year.

For the corresponding period, state-owned banks’ deposits accounted for 93.3 trillion soums ($8.6 billion), while private banks’ deposits accounted for 46.8 trillion soums ($4.3 billion).

The volume of bank loans in Uzbekistan from January through October 2021 increased by 18.4 percent, in comparison with the same period last year (266.9 trillion soums, or $24.8 billion), reaching 316.2 trillion soums ($29.3 billion).

For the specified period, the loans of state banks amounted to 272.4 trillion soums ($25.3 billion). At the same time, the loans of private banks reached 43.7 trillion soums ($4 billion).
