Uzbekistan reveals total assets and liabilities of its banks for 11M2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec.27

The total assets of banks in Uzbekistan increased by 21.9 percent from January through November 2021 (427.3 trillion soums or $39.5 billion), Trend reports via the Uzbek Central Bank.

This figure amounted to 350.4 trillion soums ($32.4 billion) in the same period last year.

For the corresponding period, state-owned banks’ assets accounted for 349.9 trillion soums ($32.3 billion), while private banks’ assets accounted for 77.4 trillion soums ($7.1 billion).

The total liabilities of banks in Uzbekistan from January through November 2021 increased by 23.1 percent, in comparison with the same period last year (292.5 trillion soums, or $27 billion), reaching 360.3 trillion soums ($33.3 billion).

For the specified period, the liabilities of state banks amounted to 295.7 trillion soums ($27.3 billion).

At the same time, the liabilities of private banks reached 64.6 trillion soums ($5.9 billion).
