The volume of deposits of banks in Uzbekistan increased by 35.5 percent from January through November 2021 (143.4 trillion soums or $13.2 billion), Trend reports via the Uzbek Central Bank.
This figure amounted to 105.8 trillion soums ($9.7 billion) in the same period last year.
For the corresponding period, state-owned banks’ deposits accounted for 95.9 trillion soums ($8.8 billion), while private banks’ deposits accounted for 47.5 trillion soums ($4.4 billion).
The volume of bank loans in Uzbekistan from January through November 2021 increased by 18.5 percent, in comparison with the same period last year (270.7 trillion soums, or $25 billion), reaching 320.8 trillion soums ($29.6 billion).
For the specified period, the loans of state banks amounted to 275.7 trillion soums ($25.5 billion). At the same time, the loans of private banks reached 45 trillion soums ($4.1 billion).
