BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. Uzbekistan plans to develop a program of measures to create a network of charging stations for electric vehicles by the fourth quarter of 2022, the spokeswoman of the Uzbek Ministry of Energy Elmira Bekmurodova told Trend.
“It is also planned to install power supply stations, including those based on renewable energy sources, in the most populated areas of the country,” Bekmurodova said.
The spokeswoman noted that in this process, special attention will be paid to the purchase of necessary equipment from local manufacturers.
According to her, about 80,000 kilometers of main and distribution power lines, more than 20,000 transformer points and more than 200 substations will be built and repaired in the country.
As a result, power supply will improve in more than 8,300 districts countrywide.
“Also, this year, within the framework of state programs, systematic work will be carried out to further improve of gas supply to consumers,” the spokeswoman said.
According to Bekmurodova, 370 km of gas networks and 1,008 gas distribution points will be modernized and reconstructed in the country.
