BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 21. The volume of industrial production in Uzbekistan from January through April 2022 amounted to 154.3 trillion soums ($13.9 billion), which is an increase of 24.1 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (124.3 trillion soums, or $11.2 billion), Trend reports referring to the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
The volume of production of the mining industry for the corresponding period amounted to 16 trillion soums ($1.4 billion), which is an increase of 25.9 percent compared to the same period last year (12.7 trillion soums, or $1.1 billion).
During this period the volume of production in the manufacturing industry increased by 25.3 percent compared to the same period in 2021 (100.4 trillion soums, or $9 billion), reaching 125.8 trillion soums ($11.3 billion).
From January through April 2022 the volume of production in the field of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning reached 11.6 trillion soums ($1 billion).
