BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan aimed at further expanding economic cooperation in priority areas, Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade.

In this regard, on May 21, 2022, the First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov met with the Advisor to the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Emil Majidov at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.

The agenda of the negotiations included a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in such areas as investment, mutual trade, industrial cooperation and the transport and logistics sector.

During the negotiations, the issue of holding regular meetings of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Business Council in the second half of 2022 in Tashkent was discussed.

Following the talks, the parties agreed to accelerate the implementation of joint initiatives and projects aimed at further expanding economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
