The regulatory capital of the banks of Uzbekistan amounted to 76.4 trillion soums ($6.9 billion) as of May 1, 2022, which is an increase of 26 percent compared to the same period last year (60.6 trillion soums or $5.5 billion), Trend reports referring to the Uzbek Central Bank.
During this period, the capital of the first tier accounted for 53.5 trillion soums ($4.8 billion), which is an increase of 23 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (65.9 trillion soums, or $5.9 billion).
The capital of the second tier as of May 1, 2022, increased by 49.4 percent and reached 10.5 trillion soums ($950 million). As of May 1, 2021, his indicator amounted to 7 trillion soums ($635.8 million).
At the same time, the capital of the first tier accounted for 86.3 percent of the total regulatory capital, and the second-tier accounted for 13.7 percent.
