BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 24. Uzbekistan’s Central Asia Motors company plans to launch the assembly of electric vehicles in the country’s Fergana region before the end of this year, Trend reports via Uzbek media outlets.

The total cost of this project exceeds $50 million, of which $5 million is the company’s own funds, $5 million - from bank loans, and $40 million - from foreign direct investment.

It is planned to produce about 10,000 electric vehicles annually, 40 percent of which will be exported. In the future, the company plans to localize the production of charging stations and batteries.
