BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 22. Uzbekistan exported natural gas worth $916.7 million to China from January through October 2022, Trend reports via Uzbek media outlets.
This figure increased by 52.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
Uzbekistan is among the prioritized gas exporters for China in the Central Asia region. The country ranks fifth in terms of natural gas supplies to China, slightly behind neighboring Kazakhstan. Turkmenistan ranks first, followed by Russia and Myanmar.
From January to September 2022 Uzbekistan exported gas worth $779.6 million.
Previously, the Uzbek Uztransgaz JSC reported the possibility of completely abandoning gas exports in 2025-2026 due to the growth of its consumption in the local market.
