BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 21. The regulatory capital of the banks of Uzbekistan amounted to 82.6 trillion soums ($7.3 billion) as of December 1, 2022, which is an increase of 24.1 percent compared to the same period last year (66.5 trillion soums or $5.9 billion), Trend reports referring to the Uzbek Central Bank.
During this period, the capital of the first tier accounted for 66.8 trillion soums ($5.9 billion), which is an increase of 20.5 percent, compared to the same period in 2021 (55.4 trillion soums, or $4.9 billion).
The capital of the second tier as of December 1, 2022, increased by 46 percent and reached 15.8 trillion soums ($1.4 billion). As of December 1, 2021, this indicator totaled 11.1 trillion soums ($983.8 million).
At the same time, the capital of the first tier accounted for 80.9 percent of the total regulatory capital, and the second tier accounted for 19.1 percent.
