Uzbekistan sees increase in number of industrial enterprises

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 10. The number of industrial enterprises has doubled reaching 100,000 over the past five years, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev told during a videoconference on measures to ensure the growth of the industrial sector, Trend reports via the official Telegram channel of the Press Secretary of the Uzbek President.

According to the source, during the relevant period, the volume of industrial production increased 1.4 times.

Furthermore, 19 additional free economic zones, as well as more than 400 small industrial zones have been created in Uzbekistan, while 10 trillion soums ($883.9 million) have been allocated for their infrastructure.

In recent years, geological exploration has increased 3 times, and more than 600 new fields have been found.

At the same time, $3 billion of financial resources have been allocated to the development of industries such as textiles, chemicals, construction materials, leather, pharmaceuticals, and electrical engineering.
