BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 20. Tajikistan was the main washing machine-importing country for Uzbekistan from January through December 2022, Trend reports citing the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
According to statistics, Tajikistan has imported 76,600 units of washing machines from Uzbekistan during the reporting period.
The committee notes that Uzbekistan exported 230,000 units of
washing machines worth $25.6 million from January through December
2022.
Uzbekistan’s volume of washing machine export increased by 43,000
units, compared to the same period in 2021.
The remaining exporters were: Kazakhstan (60,000 units), Russia (41,100 units), Kyrgyzstan (21,600 units), Azerbaijan (8,600 units), Moldova (7,200 units), Turkmenistan (5,200 units) and Türkiye (3,700 units).
Meanwhile, trade turnover between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan reached $674.4 million in 2022, which is an increase of 11.3 percent compared to 2021 ($605.6 million).
During the reporting period, Uzbekistan imported from Tajikistan 29,602 tons of zinc ores and concentrates worth $30.8 million, 965,280 tons of cement for $29.7 million, electricity worth $33.4 million, aluminum worth $31.4 million, and cotton fiber worth $17.4 million, etc.
At the same time, Uzbekistan exported to Tajikistan some 24,000 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $7.8 million, textile products worth $71.9 million, refrigerators in the amount of 63,700 units, some 6.9 million pairs of footwear, some 6,000 units of TVs, etc.
