BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 21. The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Georgia reached $8.4 million in January 2023, Trend reports referring to the National Statistical Committee of Georgia.

According to the statistics, trade turnover between the countries during this period decreased by 23.95 percent or $2.6 million compared to the first month of 2022 ($11.1 million).

Uzbek exports to Georgia in January 2023 amounted to $3.2 million, increasing by 23.43 percent year-on-year (January 2022 - $2.6 million).

During this period, Uzbekistan decreased imports from Georgia by 38.55 percent compared to the January of 2022 ($8.5 million) – $5.2 million.

Meanwhile, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Georgia from January through December 2022 amounted to $160.1 million. This figure increased by 39.6 percent, compared to the figure for 2021 ($114.6 million). Export from Uzbekistan to Georgia in this period amounted to about $49 million, while imports - were $111.1 million. During the reporting period, Uzbekistan exported to Georgia some 11,700 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $8.4 million.

Furthermore, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover in 2022 amounted to $50.08 billion. This figure increased by 18.6 percent or $7.8 billion, compared to the figure for 2021. During the reporting period, the largest foreign trade partner of Uzbekistan was Russia ($9.2 billion).
