BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 13. The number of tourists arriving from Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan amounted to 1,700 from January through February 2023, Trend reports via the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
According to the statistics, the number of Azerbaijanis who visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes in February 2023 (1,000 tourists) increased by 42.8 percent, compared to the figure for January.
State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan says that the number of tourists arriving from Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan amounted to 1,900 in February 2023 – an increase of over 6 times, compared to February 2022 (279 tourists). This figure has also increased by 35.7 percent, compared to January 2023 (1,400 tourists).
Overall from January through February 2023, some 871,000 tourists visited Uzbekistan, which is an increase of 544,400 people, or 2.7 times, compared to the same period in 2022.
Meanwhile, the Uzbek State Statistics Committee notes that a total of 10,400 tourists from Azerbaijan visited Uzbekistan in 2022.
At the same time, the number of Uzbekistan citizens visiting Azerbaijan for tourism purposes amounted to 25,920 in 2022, which is a six-fold increase, compared to 2021 (3,959 people). Uzbekistan ranked 11th in terms of the number of visitors coming to Azerbaijan during the reporting period.
